oahu, hawaii

I spent 3.5 weeks on the island of Oahu visiting one of my best friends, Erica. I was surprised at how small the island is... You can drive around the whole thing in a couple of hours. It's easily accessible by public bus, too. For a few dollars you can take a bus anywhere on the island. It's breathtakingly beautiful. Erica is based in Waikiki, which is a neighbourhood in Honolulu. My favourite part of Oahu was the North Shore. I can't wait to go back.

champagne birthday

I celebrated my champagne birthday (25 on the 25th) in LA! It was such a lovely week. I felt so loved + cared for by the ones who matter the most. On this trip I was able to visit Malibu for the first time. It was a really special day. I basically did a vegan food tour around LA, and I'm thrilled to share some of my favourite spots:

  • mama shelter rooftop (west hollywood) - perfect views, comfy beds, + chill vibes
  • locali (hollywood) - an AMAZING vegan breakfast sandwich
  • roosevelt hotel pool (hollywood) - good cocktails
  • veggie grill (hollywood) - i'm in love with everything on the menu
  • sage vegan bistro (echo park) - some of the best vegan food i've ever had
  • cafe gratitude (hollywood + venice) - the BEST taco tuesday + happy hour EVERRRRR
  • gracias madre (west hollywood) - vegan mexican food + margaritas... obsessed
  • the butcher, the baker, the cappuccino maker (west hollywood) - cutest lil brunch spot
  • the sunset (malibu) - cute bar on the beach for some drinks
  • the waffle (hollywood) - they have great vegan options
  • m street kitchen (santa monica) - cute patio with great food + drinks

I love California so much, and I can't wait to go back :)

big sur, california

in november 2017, my friend taylor and i took a quick trip from los angeles to big sur, california. as a die-hard death cab for cutie fan, a long time dream of mine was to drive across the bixby canyon bridge (they have a very touching song about this bridge...) and that dream came true!

taylor and i rented a car and took the drive north. due to a landslide, part of the pacific coast highway was blocked off. we had to detour inland, and the drive took us a bit longer than expected. we got an airbnb for the evening, and settled in with some snacks. we woke up before sunrise and drove along the coast. the cliffs and the ocean are so beautiful. seeing the bixby canyon bridge in real life was a very emotional experience for me. it was a magical morning. we stopped for coffee and croissants at big sur bakery, and then started our drive back to los angeles.

on our way down the coast we caught sunset at pismo beach. we were able to drive right on the beach and up to the water. it was a lovely little trip!

36 hours in nyc

In May 2017, one of my best friends (Amy Buck) and I took a trip to NYC. I've now been 7+ times (I've lost track) in the last 6 years, and every time I fall more and more in love with it. This time, Amy and I had 36 hours to explore. We managed to squeeze in the NYC public library, Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, Central Park, D.U.M.B.O, the Brooklyn Bridge, SoHo, the Flat Iron building, and so much more!

Not pictured here, I also went to see my Australian pals in With Confidence play a show at Irving Plaza, which was so much fun.

All photos taken by Amy! There's a few film photos mixed in here as well.
